No to NickMom TV on NickJr Campaign!

Let's send NickJr a message by bombarding their website with your comments...I'd rather not let your note-worthy comments go to waste by just sitting here on this blog site or any other blog site, and not being sent to NickJr, the decision maker, who really needs to hear them.

Please take a moment to send your comments to them - http://www.nickjr.com/home/write_to_us.jhtml

NickMom TV on NickJr - Smart Move?

Does any other mom feel the way I feel about Nickelodeon's decision to include NickMom TV on the same channel as NickJr.?  Please let me know how you feel.

Here is what I sent to NickJr. on 10/6/2012:

RE: HIGHLY IMPORTANT

First and foremost, I would like to express my disappointment in your choice to add NickMom TV on a children's network, and then especially to air it during primetime.  My young children enjoy watching NickJr television during the week and weekends.  But as soon as you added NickMom TV to your channel network, and it aired, my daughter became very upset that her favorite shows are now being interrupted by adult only television programs.  I am not exaggerating when I say that she had a falling-out...started crying hysterically because her shows were not airing.  I tried to console her, but to no avail was I successful.  I still am having a difficult time explaining to her why her shows just stop airing during the day or evening.

Though I restrict the amount of television time my children have, I am a concerned mom who cares about what my children are exposed to on television.  I not only monitor their TV time, but the television shows that they watch.  I strongly believe nowadays that children are exposed to too much adult content at an early age, and it is our jobs as parents to protect them from being introduced to adult content especially during their impressionable developmental years.

Now, not only is she upset, but also I am upset.  I became more upset when "MFF" aired and the mother used the words “Oh, what the hell”…language that I deem inappropriate for my children and any other child to hear or utter at a young age.  Let me not even begin about the other "parent-audience" shows.

I, now, restrict my children from watching your station due to the fact of your choice to add NickMom TV to NickJr.  I now prefer my children to watch DisneyJunior and Sprout channels over your NickJr channel because you made this decision without considering the millions of children who watch it every day.

It is not that I altogether mind NickMom TV or even consider it as extreme; nor am I suggesting to completely remove NickMom TV.  I am merely recommending that these type of adult only programs should be aired on a separate network or channel, thereby, keeping the children's network free of adult content bringing assurance to me, and many other parents like myself, that your channel is safe for our children to watch at anytime of the day.
